I had a stall at the amazing Handmade Canberra markets this weekend just gone. They’re incredibly well run, have the loveliest people coming through and friendly, talented stall holders. It was a pleasure to be there once again. This was my 5th market and I loved seeing the familiar faces of my regular customers and it was great to meet and chat to lots of new people who were interested in easy-to-wear and easy-on-the-environment clothes for kids.
I sold out of my fox and koala beanies so I’m busily knitting some more. This next batch of koala beanies will be made from beautiful soft locally sourced and spun alpaca yarn courtesy of One Tree Hill Alpacas. It’s been lovely to knit with and I can’t wait to see how the little koalas turn out. My fox beanies will still be knitted from ‘Woolganic’, a super soft Australian organic merino. I just love how it feels and it’s perfect for babies and children as it’s not at all prickly or itchy.
I do sometimes miss the days of being a shopper at this great market and having the freedom to wander, browse and buy! I did manage a little shopping though – in addition to the alpaca yarn, I grabbed a great badge from Look Mama and some lovely moisturiser from Buddha Body Care who had a stall across from me. I also got to choose a beautiful gift from Sarah van Oosterom that I had admired at the last markets (thanks hubby!). I can’t wait to receive it!
Talk to you soon!
